Gene Barker is a partner in the firm's tax services group. He has been with the firm since 1979. He previously worked as an IRS agent and is able to skillfully represent and advise his clients on complicated tax issues. He concentrates on the areas of income tax planning and preparation, retirement and estate planning, small business accounting and consulting, and litigation support services. His in-depth knowledge of industry-specific areas of the practice includes automobile dealerships, construction companies, defense contractors, hotels and restaurants, professional service firms and the healthcare industry.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Florida State University in 1977. He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida since 1981.

A die hard Seminole fan, Gene started taking his kids to FSU football games before they could walk. Unfortunately, the garnet and gold didn't rub off. All three of his kids chose different schools (Tulane, Georgia Tech and Auburn). Better luck with the grandkids.
